Manuel Toharia

Dr. Manuel Toharia holds a “Licenciatura en Ciencias Fisicas” from the Universidad Autonoma of Madrid, an MSc in physics from the Université du Québec a Montréal and a PhD in theoretical particle physics from the University of California at Davis (2004). He has completed postoctoral research positions in the field of particle physics at the University of Michigan, Syracuse University and University of Maryland and since 2010 he has worked as a part-time research associate at Concordia University in Montreal. In 2010 he joined the faculty of Dawson College in the Physics Department.
He is author or co-author of some 30 peer-reviewed articles and is a referee for the journals Physical Review D, Physical Review Letters and European Physical Journal C.

Interests:

Manuel Toharia is actively involved in particle physics research in the field of warped extra dimensions, an extension of the Standard Model of elementary particles. In particular he is interested in the Higgs boson sector of these models. He is also interested in introducing Dawson students to particle physics research and in general to pass on the message of the importance of particle physics research and more generally fundamental research in our society.
